Systems Integration Engineer

Job Summary

SNAPin is seeking an Integration Engineer with system and network administration background. The Integration Engineer participates in the deployment and ongoing support and maintenance of the SNAPin application and infrastructure. This position includes close collaboration with SNAPin customers and SNAPin internal groups. This individual should have hands on experience with UNIX systems administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the installation and deployment of SNAPin software in customer and test environments
• Trouble shooting application problems and performance issues
• Investigate monitoring alerts and resolve issues
• Performance tuning and bench marking configurations and application designs
• Installation and maintenance of system and network infrastructure
• Patch and package management of existing systems
• Information gathering and investigation of new solutions
• Documentation of configurations, processes and installation methods
• Gathering hardware and software requirements for customer deployments
• Developing tools and scripts to automate and assist the team
• Provide customer support for existing and new application deployments
• Installation and configuration of hardware and operating systems

Position Requirements:

• Extensive hands on systems administration experience with RHEL 4/5 and Solaris 9/10.
• Experience working with customers, providing support and training.
• Thorough understanding of network protocols, routing, switching and load balancing concepts.
• Experience with internet protocols including DNS, NFS, NTP, SMTP and HTTP.
• Experience troubleshooting and tuning web, application and database servers.
• Experience building and installing servers and hardware including Sun, Dell, HP and Hitachi.
• Experience programming shell and perl scripts.
• Experience with deploying software applications on scaled Unix based environments.
• Experience configuring and tuning network settings on servers for redundancy and performance.
• Experience with network installations of Linux and Solaris servers.
• Experience patching and upgrading Linux and Solaris servers.
• Experience with NAS and SAN storage hardware and software technologies.
• Experience with open source applications and tools including Apache MySQL.
• Experience building custom RPM’s and Solaris Packages.
• Experience documenting procedures, tasks and configurations.
• Experience working in customer facing environments.
• Experience working in multi tiered enterprise Unix environments.
• Experience programming with Java, C or C++ or other languages a plus.
• Experience with MySQL, Oracle or other databases a plus.
• Experience with F5 and Cisco networking a plus.

Education, Training and/or Minimum Qualifications:

• Telecommunications experience is a plus.
• BS Degree in Computer Science and or other related field is required. Experience may be substituted for the educational requirement.
