Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), Server Side

The SDET will understand and will be experienced in the execution phase of the software test cycle from understanding requirements to planning and executing test cases and documenting outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Writing automated test cases via J-Unit
• Creating and running test scripts and test code
• Work close with Senior Java developers
• Exercise and improve Java coding skills
• Write test tools for server side scripting language
• Develop and implement strategies for automated testing of the server
• Design and perform stress and load tests for applications
• Work with powerful third party functional, stress and load testing tools

Education and Experience:

• At least 5yrs. overall experience in a software testing environment
• Two or more years experience with relational databases and SQL, Java, Linux and/or Solaris
• Solid understanding of good programming practices.
• Two or more years experience with relational databases, SQL, Windows, Linux and/or Solaris is encouraged.
• Education preference with one of the following: B.E., B.Tech, M.E., M.Tech, MCA. MS. Commensurate level of experience may waive the educational requirement.

Required skills & abilities:

• Experience with XML and JUnit a plus
• Ability to design tests that simulate intended server functionality.
• Ability to design, run and analyze stress and performance test scenarios.
• Ability to write J-Unit tests from analyzing code.
• Product, performance and reliability testing is a must
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
