Global Account Director, Vodafone

SNAPin Software develops self service software for mobile devices. We provide operators with software that is embedded on the handset enabling them to connect and interact with their customer in a relevant, timely way - based on how they use their device. Using our product suite mobile operators can deliver a branded self-service experience to their subscribers that can generate revenue and dramatically reduce the cost of providing customer care, all whilst supporting a vastly-improved customer experience.

We are headquartered in Bellevue, WA, USA and have a fast-growing office in Richmond, London, UK. This opening is based in our Richmond office, and is for the Vodafone Global Account Director to cover the UK and Ireland region as well as leading the Vodafone Global Account team. You will be responsible for delivering a well-managed strategic partnership that grows Vodafone’s business and drives yearly revenue targets and long-term revenue opportunities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

This is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned professional, with strategic software sales experience to join our growing organization as the Vodafone Global Account Director. SNAPin is looking for dynamic and passionate sales professional with a proven track record of success to help us build out our customer base, with the key responsibility of managing Vodafone UK and Ireland Accounts and leading the Vodafone Account Team globally.

SNAPin recently signed a global deal to deploy to Vodafone countries across the globe, and the sales team is expanding to support delivery to 18 OpCos over the next 3 years.

The ideal candidate will possess top notch enterprise selling, negotiation and deal closing skills, expert knowledge of value and solutions based selling, as well as account planning, prospecting, business development and strategy development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To take responsibility for the relationship with the customer.
  • Develop long-term account strategy, generating tactical and comprehensive solutions, prospect, develop, and close large-scale enterprise transactions.
  • Maintain a healthy and predictable pipeline with qualified and well-developed opportunities to meet short and long term revenue goals.
  • Manage relationships with extended internal team in a matrixed environment as well as external partners.
  • Establishing and maintain relationships and influencing decision making at customer executive meetings.
  • Prepare development of a global account business plan which include analysis of customer, market, and industry intelligence, with the support of the global account team.
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities within the assigned region.
  • Position and influence and determine strategies for RFQ's.
  • Assist technical sales in the design and direction of complex solutions.

Required knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

The successful candidate will interact with C-level executives, line of business managers, product managers, project managers, telecoms and IT technical leads, customer experience and design experts, business and reporting analysts, test teams, terminal/handset teams. A highly effective team player able to motivate virtual team members from inside and outside of SNAPin, the person will simultaneously need to lead the Global Account Team, whilst integrating well and delivering real value themselves.

Position Requirements:

  • At least 6 years experience in a leading enterprise software sales role as an Account Director/Manager within large enterprise accounts.
  • Expertise in the area of industry knowledge in the communications sector and mobile industry.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills - the individual must be able to deliver powerful, succinct and convincing presentations to all levels within an organisation, whether they are technical managers or business directors.
  • Ability to rapidly assimilate information. To plan and drive for short and longer term objectives.
  • Experience of successfully managing the tender process, including the positioning and influence and determine strategies for RFQ's.
  • Strong track record for meeting and exceeding revenue objectives.
  • Understanding and ability to navigate corporate political landscape.
  • Exceptional ability to identify and communicate business needs.
  • Demonstrated history of over-achieving targets.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • English: Fluent written and spoken.

Education, Training and/or Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business Administration is preferred.
  • Previous experience account managing Vodafone or other mobile operators in Western Europe.
  • Competence in other languages, in particular European languages.
  • Knowledge of mobile handset platforms and network-side systems in the mobile industry.
  • Experience in mobile telecommunications technologies and protocols, e.g. SMS, USSD, MMS, WAP, GPRS etc.
